In a close run final of the three teams RL 9’s Tournament at Hull FC’s Elite Performance Centre, Tigers Under 10s bested their West Hull rivals.

Cottingham Tigers and West Hull faced each other in the K.C. Junior 9’s Grand Final at Under 10’s level with the Tigers edging to a narrow win thanks to the only score of the game from Tom Shirra – A fine individual effort. The Tigers Will Tate was the Man of the Match in the Grand Final and also the Player of the Tournament.

Described as a top footballer by Hull FC’s Sasch Brook, Will epitomised the character of the entire team to win the final against the pre-tournament favourites.

The first photo is before the Grand Final of the sides mixed in with the respective Captains – Red Silk of West Hull and Sam Chamberlain of Cottingham Tigers at the front and the second photo is of the winning Tigers side at full time after they had collected the Trophy kindly sponsored by K.C.

Karl Arro, Head Coach of the victorious Cottingham Tigers Under 10’s commented, ‘Just a quick thank you for the 9's tournament last night, all of Cottingham's players and parents enjoyed the whole experience of the night from the mini rugby to watching the professionals. Also a big thank you to the rest of your team that did a great job with the bouncy posts, which we felt was a great warm up facility. We all look forward to working with you again at some future event.’ Karl Arro was delighted with the way the lads played and said that the parents and players had a tremendous time and passed on his thanks to all at Hull FC.

Sasch Brook from the Hull F.C. Foundation Team who organised the Event commented, ‘It was a real pleasure to see the youngsters having a fantastic evening from start to finish. The standard of Junior Rugby League was high despite their youth at Under 10’s but they all certainly dug in and played with an abundance of enthusiasm and effort in every single play in the warm conditions. Congratulations to the Tigers for winning the Grand Final but fair play to West Hull and Hull Isberg who played an important role – That’s for sure.’

Karl also made his Hull FC Live TV debut - for his thoughts on that you best ask him outside the earshot of the players !

Congratulations lads.
